Due to the fast-rising figures of the novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) across the globe, including Nigeria, the government of many nations had resolved to enforce a national/state lockdown to help curb the situation.

Many people have been forced to observed daily holidays. For some states the lockdown is partial while for others, it’s a total lockdown. Instead of complaining and getting depressed over your state of boredom and idleness, you can try to make the best of this lockdown to engage in activities that will be beneficial to you personally, professionally, and in your relationship with family and friends.

This brings us to the 15 productive and fun things you can do during COVID-19 lockdown

1. Learn a new language

If you have always had an interest in learning any foreign and local languages but haven’t had the time due to work, school, or your tight schedule, then you could use this long free time to start. You can watch YouTube videos, attend online classes, or download mobile apps and videos that teach the language of your choice.

2. Try home-based workout

Are you worried that staying at home and eating all those foods will make you add some pounds, then you should try out some home-based exercises either alone, with friends or family. There are a lot of home workout apps available on your mobile phone Play Store. Alternatively, you can watch or download workout videos on YouTube. For people like me who are looking for an opportunity to add some pounds, the options above still apply to you, but this time, your search should be for weight gain.   

3. Read a book

You can never go wrong with this one. While you may decide not to bother your head with reading, there are various entertaining books, novels, magazines available online and in a PDF version that you can download and read later. This lockdown also provides you with the opportunity to complete those books that are taking you forever to finish.

4. Pamper your skin

Staying at home should not make you to neglect your skin and looks in general. You should always aim at looking good always. Use good skincare products. They work better when you are not exposed to the sun, and so this is the perfect opportunity to invest in them.

5. Do a thorough house clean up

You are likely not to have the time to thoroughly clean the hard to reach areas in your house. Use this opportunity to remove curb webs, clear and arrange your wardrobe and clothes, clean the kitchen cabinet, among others

Now you can catch up with the latest movies and have something to gist about with friends and family.

In busy areas like Lagos and Abuja, many people engage in time-demanding jobs and hardly have time for their families, friends, or even themselves. All thanks to COVID-19 lockdown, you are going to have ample time for your loved ones. Make good use of this opportunity to show love and care to them. Create family-friendly activities and play together.

Tired of staying indoors for too long? Take a morning or evening stroll around your neighbourhood. It also allows you to clear your head and ease stress. (Don’t forget to use your nose mask, maintain social distance, and carry your hand sanitizer).
